Dalers Down Kellenberg

The Farmingdale Varsity Lacrosse team opened its season on a cold night at Allen Park with a 15-2 victory over Kellenberg. The Dalers were led by C-Jay Engleke's 4 goals and one assist, and Joe Bagnasco's 3 goals and one assist. Key contributions were provided by sophomore K.C. Worker who won 14 of 15 faceoffs and LSM Keenan Ochwat who had 7 ground balls and three takeaways. The Dalers were a swarming group all night, dominating the ground balls 38-17, and the shots 41-15. Mike Giordano picked up the win in goal, and four Daler goalies combined for 5 saves.

The Dalers are back in action on Wednesday, March 28th with a non-league game at Lynbrook. The game will be played at Lynbrook Middle School and the start time is scheduled for 4:15 pm.

DALER NOTES: Engelke now has 73 goals and 27 assists in his career for exactly 100 points. He is the 34th Daler to top the 100 career point mark...
Farmingdale has never lost to Kellenberg, winning all 10 games dating back to 1993...Under Head Coach Bob Hartranft, the Dalers have won 32 of 40 season openers, and 20 of the last 23. The three losses were all by one goal.
